{"id":76262,"date":"2026-04-22T14:04:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T18:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vgvote.com\/?p=76262"},"modified":"2026-04-22T14:43:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T18:43:28","slug":"troy-baker-teases-future-for-joel-his-dead-the-last-of-us-character","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vgvote.com\/?p=76262","title":{"rendered":"Troy Baker Teases Future For Joel, His Dead The Last Of Us Character"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prolific and veteran gaming voice actor Troy Baker has teased that fans have not &#8220;seen the last of Joel,&#8221; the popular character from Naughty Dog&#8217;s The Last of Us series, and a character who is dead.<\/p>\n<p>Baker said in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/the-last-of-us-troy-baker-weve-not-seen-the-last-of-joel\">Eurogamer<\/a>, &#8220;I definitely know we&#8217;ve not seen the last of Joel, whether that be Naughty Dog or somebody else.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Baker did not elaborate on this intriguing comment, but some are taking it to mean Joel could show up in a future game or other project in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Joel died in the games, and he died on the HBO TV show as well, but fans have theorized that Naughty Dog could make a The Last of Us prequel, which could feature Joel. It&#8217;s also possible Joel shows up on the HBO show in the form of a flashback or other diversion from the timeline. The TV series is expected to return in 2027, and it will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gq.com\/story\/kaitlyn-dever-gq-hype\">go back in time somewhat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/a\/uploads\/original\/1179\/11799911\/4686466-screenshot2026-04-22at12.29.08%E2%80%AFpm.png\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s possible Baker isn&#8217;t talking about the game or TV show series.
