There’s a new name on the way for My Nintendo Store, the online site where people can purchase digital Switch and Switch 2 games, buy accessories, as well as redeem rewards with Platinum Points. Starting May 27, the official moniker will be Nintendo Store, according to Nintendo of America on X<\/a>. Basically, the video game company is mimicking the meme from The Social Network movie<\/a>, in which Justin Timberlake’s character tells Mark Zuckerberg to drop “The” from “The Facebook,” because “it’s cleaner.”<\/p>\n

To be clear, other than the name change, everything else will stay the same for the online shop. Intriguingly, Nintendo launched the Nintendo Store app in November<\/a> without the “My,” so this branding alteration was seemingly telegraphed for roughly half-a-year. Additionally, most people probably never mentioned the “My” in everyday conversation; more likely is that the digital storefront is referred to as the eShop by longtime Nintendo fans.<\/p>\n
