{"id":83481,"date":"2026-06-01T14:00:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T18:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vgvote.com\/?p=83481"},"modified":"2026-06-01T14:36:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T18:36:23","slug":"baldurs-gate-2-and-probably-the-original-reportedly-getting-remakes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vgvote.com\/?p=83481","title":{"rendered":"Baldur\u2019s Gate 2 (And Probably The Original) Reportedly Getting Remakes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BioWare&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/games\/baldurs-gate\/\">Baldur&#8217;s Gate<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/games\/baldurs-gate-ii-shadows-of-amn\/\">Baldur&#8217;s Gate 2<\/a>, some of the most critically acclaimed RPGs of all time, are reportedly being remade.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/rpg\/a-baldurs-gate-2-remake-is-apparently-in-development-with-the-original-co-lead-designer-returning\/\">PC Gamer<\/a>, Dungeons &amp; Dragons parent company Wizards of the Coast is specifically working on a Baldur&#8217;s Gate 2 remake, but states that from what it&#8217;s heard, a remake of the original game also sounds likely.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former BioWare developer and co-lead designer on Baldur&#8217;s Gate 2 Kevin Martins is said to be involved with the project, having technically already been in the Wizards family as part of the team working on upcoming space-RPG <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/games\/exodus\/\">Exodus<\/a> over at Wizards subsidiary Archetype Entertainment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unfortunately, there aren&#8217;t many additional details on what these remakes may end up looking like or when they might arrive. The two games are massive in scope and no small feat to remake.
