Having been in development for 16 years&#8211;development on it originally began in 2011 at THQ before it went bust&#8211;the game got a\u00a0re-reveal during Summer Game Fest 2026. One area where the game is aiming to stand apart from the pack is with its art direction, and in a new dev diary, developer Panache Digital Games provided a behind-the-scenes look at the artistic vision powering the mystery and witchcraft of this title.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Set across three time periods&#8211;the late 17th century, 1999, and the modern day&#8211;creative director Patrice D\u00e9silets and the Panache team drew inspiration from the Dutch Golden Age of art to shape the look and feel of the game. The process included translating paintings into interactive environments, replicating the distinct aesthetics of those painters to create the game world.
