That&#8217;s not too bad, and if you look at the numbers, the Black Flag remake is already one of the best games in this category of the current generation. It still has a long, <em>long<\/em>\u00a0way to go before it can dethrone the current king of remakes, as 2023&#8217;s Resident Evil 4 is still a sales juggernaut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to new data by <a href=\"https:\/\/alineaanalytics.substack.com\/p\/this-gens-top-remakes-and-remasters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alinea Analytics<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/reviews\/resident-evil-4-remake-review-stranga-stranga-now-thats-a-remake\/1900-6418047\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resident Evil 4 remake<\/a> has reached lifetime sales of 16.8 million units across PC and console so far. One thing to note is that the game has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capcom.co.jp\/ir\/english\/business\/million.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lifetime sales of 13.6 million units<\/a> as of March 31, 2026, according to Capcom, and it hasn&#8217;t updated those figures yet. If Resident Evil 4 has sold another 3 million units in the last couple of months, then that would make\u00a0it the company&#8217;s fifth-best-selling game of all time, leaping over the lifetime sales of\u00a0Resident Evil Village (14.90 million) and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (16 million).
