This is according to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/superhys\/status\/2091934770666295378\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/superhys\/status\/2091934770666295378\">Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics<\/a>, who added that pre-sales on Steam alone work out to around $21 million in revenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elliott said Black Ops 7 managed to hit around 200,000 copies pre-sold on Steam by launch. Modern Warfare 4 has doubled that, and with two months still to go before release.<\/p>\n<figure data-wp-interactive=\"core\/image\" class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-ref-id=\"1860257\" data-wp-on--click=\"actions.core.image.showLightbox\" style=\"cursor: zoom-in\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/CODMW4_df79f1.jpg?w=636\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1860257\" \/>Modern Warfare 4 is selling well so far on Steam, it seems. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MW4&#8217;s beta put up big numbers on Steam during its early-access period, reaching a peak of <a href=\"https:\/\/steamdb.info\/app\/4783780\/charts\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/steamdb.info\/app\/4783780\/charts\/\">more than 115,000 concurrent users<\/a>. Black Ops 7, meanwhile, peaked at about 100,000 concurrent users on Steam, even after it went live for everyone outside of a beta weekend, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/charlieINTEL\/status\/2090875216477978819\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/charlieINTEL\/status\/2090875216477978819\">according to ChalieIntel.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MW4 performing better than Black Ops 7 by some metrics already is not a total surprise, as last year&#8217;s game was a commercial disappointment.
