Despite rumors and murmurs from noted leakers<\/a>, there was no reveal of a 3D Mario game at the September 2026 Nintendo Direct<\/a>. In fact, the only mention of Nintendo’s mascot was a free update to Mario Kart World, which allows you to play SNES courses already in the Free Roam map in Versus mode.<\/p>\n Traditionally, Nintendo consoles have been blessed with a 3D Mario not long after they hit stores. Super Mario 64 was a launch title for the Nintendo 64, and Sunshine, Galaxy, 3D Land, and Odyssey all released within a year of their respective platforms’ lifecycles.
