HBO boss Casey Bloys has once again said that the upcoming third season of The Last of Us is expected to be its last.<\/p>\n
He told Deadline<\/a> that Season 3 is coming in 2027, though did not confirm when in the year. Asked if he still think it’s the final season, Bloys said he believes showrunner Craig Mazin “has planned it as the final season.”<\/p>\n In January this year, Bloys was asked if Season 3 is going to be the last, and he said, “It certainly seems that way.”<\/a> However, at the time, Bloys admitted that a decision like that would come down to Mazin.<\/p>\n https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uLtkt8BonwM <\/p>\n Before this, Mazin said that\u00a0Season 4 was essential<\/a>\u00a0to bring the show to a conclusion. However, Bloys has indicated that the show\u00a0may wrap up its run with Season 3<\/a>, which could be a longer season. <\/p>\n \u201cCraig is still working it out whether it will be two more seasons or one more long season. It hasn\u2019t been decided yet, and I\u2019m following Craig\u2019s lead on that,\u201d Bloys said in 2025.<\/p>\n
