Launching tomorrow on Switch 2, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/games\/fire-emblem-fortunes-weave\/\">Fire Emblem: Fortune&#8217;s Weave<\/a> sits at a fantastic 89 metascore (at the time of publication) on GameSpot&#8217;s sister site <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/game\/fire-emblem-fortunes-weave\/\">Metacritic<\/a>. That&#8217;s good enough to place it No. 13 currently on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/browse\/game\/all\/all\/current-year\/\">Metacritic&#8217;s list for best games of 2026<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, GameSpot&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/reviews\/fire-emblem-fortunes-weave-is-the-series-new-peak\/\">Fire Emblem: Fortune&#8217;s Weave review<\/a> says this is &#8220;the new high point to beat for future entries.&#8221; As someone who didn&#8217;t plan to buy the strategy RPG, I&#8217;m now second-guessing myself. I have a history of buying well-reviewed Fire Emblem games, trying them out for maybe five hours, and then bouncing off them for something else. That was especially true of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/reviews\/fire-emblem-three-houses-review-the-good-fight\/1900-6417254\/\">Fire Emblem: Three Houses<\/a> on Switch in 2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before that, my first foray into the series came in 2013 with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/reviews\/fire-emblem-awakening-review\/1900-6403250\/\">Fire Emblem Awakening<\/a> on the Nintendo 3DS, if you don\u2019t consider me maining Marth in Super Smash Bros. Melee. This is a game I still have downloaded on my 3DS XL, which sits in the drawer of my bedside table.
