But, according to Marathon creative director Julia Nardin, that\u2019s untrue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs someone who\u2019s worked on both Destiny and Marathon, I can confirm that the \u201cleak\u201d about us merging the two IPs is fake,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/julianardin\/status\/2100269826707268060\">Nardin said<\/a> in a post on Twitter \/ X. \u201cThey share a lot of the same Bungie DNA, but like siblings they\u2019re also their own independent entities. Please don\u2019t believe everything you read online.\u201d<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"ignvideo\" data-slug=\"marathon-official-sentinel-shell-cinematic-trailer\" data-loop=\"\">\n<p>It has of course been a tumultuous time for Bungie, Destiny, and Marathon. Marathon began life as an ultra hardcore extraction shooter, but Bungie has been retooling it to play more like Destiny since as the game has struggled for players. Meanwhile, Bungie stopped work on Destiny 2 to focus on Marathon \u2014 upsetting Destiny fans in the process.
