BambooHR&#8217;s data, though, shows a more concrete trend. <\/p>\n<figure data-wp-interactive=\"core\/image\" class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-ref-id=\"1889285\" data-wp-on--click=\"actions.core.image.showLightbox\" style=\"cursor: zoom-in\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Lucia_Caminos_10_262d89.jpg?w=636\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1889285\" \/>Why work when you can play GTA 6? <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using paid time off (PTO) data from active employees in the US, BambooHR found that PTO requests for the third Thursday of November this year&#8211;the day that GTA 6 launches&#8211;are running 9-17% above historical averages from recent years. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This data is consistent &#8220;at every checkpoint we can measure,&#8221; the company said in a memo sent to GameSpot. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GTA 6 launches on a Thursday. There is no word on PTO data for the following day, but who wants to go back to work on a Friday? I would theorize people might book that day off, too, but BambooHR didn&#8217;t share any data for this.
