From musicals to whatever comes next, The Witcher creator, Andrzej Sapkowski, isn’t ruling out even more unconventional ways of bringing the fantasy series to life.<\/p>\n

The Witcher has already been adapted into just about every major format you could think of, from the immensely popular video games and Netflix’s live-action series to animated films and comics.<\/p>\n

But during our recent wide-ranging interview with Sapkowski and his English translator, David French<\/a>, we asked the author whether there are more experimental formats he’d like to see The Witcher explore, such as the possibility of a major stage production like Game of Thrones<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Does a musical count as a stage play?” he asked. “If so, there were already two. What else? I am open to suggestions. Even unconventional ones.”<\/p>\n

Yes, Geralt of Rivia has, in fact, already ventured into musical territory<\/a>, although Sapkowski seemingly doesn’t want to put a limit on what could come next either. After all, the franchise has spent years expanding far beyond the books that first introduced Geralt.<\/p>\n
