They also say that some news, however little, is good news, too, and girl, do we have <em>some<\/em> news: Ubisoft&#8217;s struggling action-adventure game <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/games\/beyond-good-and-evil-2\/\" data-type=\"games\" data-id=\"205542\">Beyond Good &amp; Evil 2<\/a> is still alive despite remaining in development hell.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ubisoft Bordeaux&#8217;s lead writer and associate narrative director Rik Godwin <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/rikgodwin.bsky.social\/post\/3mw4li3vxvc2a\">took to Bluesky on September 22<\/a> to provide a brief update on the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Odd sort of non-announcement but for the past few months I&#8217;ve been working on Beyond Good &amp; Evil 2 in a support\/consultant role,&#8221; Godwin, who was a writer on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/games\/assassins-creed-shadows\/\" data-type=\"games\" data-id=\"481430\">Assassin&#8217;s Creed Shadows<\/a>, said. &#8220;I am allowed to say this, I checked.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It makes sense that Ubisoft Bordeaux would assist with Beyond Good &amp; Evil 2. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/beyond-good-evil-2-is-still-alive-and-just-added-an-assassins-creed-shadows-writer\">IGN<\/a>, Ubisoft Montpellier, which is leading the project&#8217;s development, is just south of the Bordeaux studio. And although Ubisoft Bordeaux was the lead developer on both 2023&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/games\/assassins-creed-mirage\/\" data-type=\"games\" data-id=\"480612\">Assassin&#8217;s Creed Mirage<\/a> and Shadows&#8217; 2025 expansion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/reviews\/assassins-creed-shadows-claws-of-awaji-dlc-review-same-old-same-old\/1900-6418409\/\">Claws of Awaji<\/a>, that studio typically operates in a support role for Ubisoft&#8217;s myriad other teams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This minor update comes nearly 10 years after Ubisoft re-revealed Beyond Good &amp; Evil 2 at E3 2017, and nearly 20 years after Ubisoft announced the<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No news is good news, they say.
