This means there won&#8217;t be any PlayStation news, at least not directly from Sony.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-09-28\/sony-to-skip-ces-show-after-honda-ev-venture-dropped\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-09-28\/sony-to-skip-ces-show-after-honda-ev-venture-dropped\">confirmed to Bloomberg<\/a> that it&#8217;s pulling out of the show this year following a strategic evaluation of its approach to &#8220;events and communications based on the needs and priorities of our diverse business.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company went on to say that today it&#8217;s putting more focus on &#8220;entertainment,&#8221; including games, anime, films, and music. CES, on the other hand, is primarily a technology show. <\/p>\n<p> What PlayStation announcements have there been at CES before? <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sony&#8217;s showing at CES historically includes a keynote address, featuring executives and creative leaders from the company discussing upcoming technologies and products. Sony never made the most momentous PlayStation announcements at its CES events over the years, but it was an event that fans could expect <em>some <\/em>news, at least. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, in 2020, then-PlayStation boss Jim Ryan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/articles\/sony-unveils-ps5-logo-and-its-not-surprising\/1100-6472543\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/articles\/sony-unveils-ps5-logo-and-its-not-surprising\/1100-6472543\/\">revealed the PS5 logo at CES<\/a>.
