{"id":90504,"date":"2026-10-01T14:30:55","date_gmt":"2026-10-01T18:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vgvote.com\/?p=90504"},"modified":"2026-10-01T15:36:38","modified_gmt":"2026-10-01T19:36:38","slug":"gta-6s-weather-system-sounds-like-a-big-step-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vgvote.com\/?p=90504","title":{"rendered":"GTA 6\u2019s Weather System Sounds Like A Big Step Up"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rockstar&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/articles\/gta-6-guides-hub-how-to-do-everything-in-grand-theft-auto-6\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/articles\/gta-6-guides-hub-how-to-do-everything-in-grand-theft-auto-6\/\">Grand Theft Auto 6<\/a> includes a number of updates and improvements over the developer&#8217;s past games, and that includes new weather systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rockstar&#8217;s vice president of art for lighting and rendering at Rockstar, Owen Shepherd, told <a href=\"https:\/\/gameinformer.com\/exclusive\/2026\/09\/29\/exclusive-grand-theft-auto-vi-features-tropical-storms-and-hurricanes\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/gameinformer.com\/exclusive\/2026\/09\/29\/exclusive-grand-theft-auto-vi-features-tropical-storms-and-hurricanes\">Game Informer<\/a> that the studio has &#8220;re-engineered&#8221; the studio&#8217;s weather system to &#8220;make everything more more localized and persistent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the goal was to make the weather in GTA 6&#8217;s setting of Leonida&#8211;a stand-in for Florida&#8211;feel &#8220;dynamically solid and achieve a sense of scale&#8221; that the studio has never done before.<\/p>\n<figure data-wp-interactive=\"core\/image\" class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-ref-id=\"1903203\" data-wp-on--click=\"actions.core.image.showLightbox\" style=\"cursor: zoom-in\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Vice_City_02.jpg?w=636\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1903203\" \/>GTA 6 launches on November 19. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What that means in practice is that GTA 6 will have &#8220;fully dynamic cloudscapes that roll across the map&#8221; to provide a &#8220;broad spectrum of weather&#8221; in the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Florida is known for its heat and humidity, along with its localized and fast-moving rain systems. Look one direction and you may see bright sunshine. Look the other and you could see a downpour. GTA 6 will replicate this with localized rain showers, along with rainbows that appear.
