Indeed, in June, Barone admitted to feeling somewhat embarrassed to have to keep on saying he was still working away on the game. \u201cFeels kinda dumb posting this same thing over and over, but that\u2019s the reality,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n<p>In a new interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gq-magazine.co.uk\/article\/a-decade-after-stardew-valley-eric-barone-is-still-going-it-alone\">GQ<\/a> (thanks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/the-haunted-chocolatier-action-rpg-stardew-valley\">Eurogamer<\/a>), Barone touched on what to expect from Haunted Chocolatier when it eventually comes out, and it sounds more different from Stardew Valley than I had expected. It\u2019s set in a more \u201cmetaphysical\u201d locale, for a start, and in terms of gameplay it\u2019s more of an action RPG.<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"slideshow\" data-slug=\"haunted-chocolatier-screenshots-2023\" data-value=\"haunted-chocolatier-screenshots-2023\" data-type=\"slug\" data-caption=\"\">\n<p>\u201cIt is still what I call a town game,\u201d Barone said, \u201cBut it\u2019s more of an action RPG \u2014 the main focus is more about adventuring, finding equipment and getting more powerful. There are monsters, there are boss fights. It&#8217;s for the people in Stardew Valley that go into the mines.
