What was once a fun week-long festival of early game demos has become a dumping ground for vibe-coded AI slop, making it increasingly hard to find and wishlist good games. And if you weren&#8217;t bothered by playing a game demo that was hastily cobbled together, the sheer volume&#8211;around 7,100 game demos were available this time&#8211;of what was on offer made Next Fest a nightmare to navigate. So what&#8217;s a person to do when Valve&#8217;s own storefront lacked the tools to separate the wheat from the chaff? The Top 50 Next Fest demos for October 2026 span a wide variety of genres and themes, and the list shows a few trends.
