Dungeons & Dragons fans will soon be exploring the dangerous lands of Azeroth, as World of Warcraft is coming to the tabletop game. Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Blizzard have gone all-out with this crossover, as not only does it feature multiple World of Warcraft classes and six additional subclasses, but also various specializations, spells, items, and enemies. That sounds like a dream pairing between two titans of the fantasy genre, but could we see Dungeons & Dragons make an appearance in World of Warcraft’s digital realms?
WotC isn’t saying anything official right now, but in an interview at Gen Con with GameSpot’s Jessica Cogswell, Head of Dungeons & Dragons Dan Ayoub and VP of World of Warcraft for Blizzard Holly Longdale were certainly teasing something. “I cannot say at this time,” Longdale said. “Not at this time. This is a grand experiment. I am really excited to see where it goes.”
“As we exchange knowing glances,” Ayoub added.
