Activision has made a key announcement about how Double XP tokens work in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and it sounds like good news.
Beginning with MW4, 2XP tokens will only count down when you’re actually in a match. Previously, the timer would tick down when you were in a game’s menus or searching for a match. That’s not ideal for a lot of reasons, obviously.

If you’re anything like me, sometimes you have to get up to let your dog out. Or you want to get up to grab some food or a drink. Or, you might sit in the game’s menus when nature calls. Now, you can do those things and still get the full amount of 2XP without your bonus going to waste.
