CD Projekt has announced a surprise update to Cyberpunk 2077, due out this week.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5) launches Thursday, October 22, and while CD Projekt kept the details quiet, it has confirmed it will feature content “inspired” by the anime. Edgerunners 2 hits Netflix today, so this update is well-timed to capitalize on heightened interest in all things Cyberpunk 2077.
But what, exactly, is in the update itself? CD Projekt took to social media to confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will get “new items and features,” which includes the content inspired by Edgerunners 2.”
“Update 2.5 will be dropping on October 22, 2026, marking yet another opportunity to dive back into Night City or experience it for the very first time,” the developer continued.
What does new “features” mean? In yet another social media post, this time from the Cyberpunk 2077 account, CD Projekt teased, “New Edgerunners, new chrome, new playstyle,” adding: “We’re talking cyberware customization, a new dual-wielding playstyle, and more!”
