The class-based side-scrolling brawler/RPG Towerborne is coming to Xbox Series X|S consoles on April 29, when it will also be launching on Game Pass for both console and PC.
Towerborne comes from Stoic Studios, the creators of turn-based tactics series The Banner Saga, and actually launched in Steam Early Access on PC back in September 2024. The game is a combination of side-scrolling beat-’em-ups like Castle Crashers with the loot and replayability of an ARPG like Diablo, complete with different character classes to choose from and gear to customize. Published by Xbox Game Studios, Towerborne is now coming to Xbox with new features like cross-play and cross-progression, as well as couch co-op on console.
As detailed in an Xbox Wire post, all versions of the game, including the Steam version, will additionally be receiving the free Class Mastery update on April 29 that retools major parts of the game by adding a new class progression system and a revamped world map and main quest. Class Mastery will introduce skill points players can use to customize their class and introduce new skills and mechanics that will change how each class is played. Skill points can be swapped freely
