A new job posting by CD Projekt Red strongly implies that online multiplayer will be a part of Cyberpunk 2, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. The description specifically states that the employee will “lead [their] team to develop and optimize multiplayer systems, including matchmaking.”
CD Projekt Red posted that the company was hiring for Cyberpunk 2 on X, with the official job title being Lead Network Engineer. “As a Lead Network Engineer, you and your team will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the network architecture and online systems,” the description says. “You will lead and manage a team of talented engineers, working collaboratively to ensure seamless and robust online systems.”
