Following the overwhelming success of its launch, Mewgenics is set to get DLC in the future according to one of its co-creators.
Edmund McMillen shared some brief updates on X regarding the near future of the cat-based roguelite, stating that DLC is planned given the sales success of the title. He also reconfirmed that the game is being developed for consoles but stopped short of detailing which ones, and how long potential ports might take.
A new update for Mewgenics is expected soon with some fixes for minor issues plaguing players, but the thousands enjoying the latest game from the creators of The Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy, and The End Is Nigh should be happy to know that the game’s exceptional OST is now up for purchase on Steam, too.
Mewgenics has been a runaway success since its February 10 launch, quickly amassing the highest concurrent player count out of all the games creators Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel have produced. It has since gone on to become the most successful roguelite on Steam in terms of concurrent players, beating out previous record-holder Hades II with a total of just over 115,000 at its peak.
