The first big story trailer for Nekome: Nazi Hunter has arrived. For anyone just catching up, the upcoming single-player, third-person action is set in World War II and is directed by GTA and Red Dead’s Jeronimo Barrera.
The game is inspired by grindhouse films and follows the character Vano Nastasu, a Romani man who is hunting down Nazis after they killed his family.
Barrera said in a news release that Nekome: Nazi Hunter is one of his favorite and most personal stories that he’s ever worked on. “Vano is hunting Nazis. He’s doing more than just punching them in the face, as his every move is a calculated act of revenge that transports players into his world,” he said.
In the game, players sneak into enemy compounds and find the best ways to kill Nazis, whether that’s through stabbing them up close or taking them down from range. The first trailer provides a glimpse at how bloody and brutal the action is going to be.
Nekomi: Nazi Hunter also has “notoriety” and “fear” systems that add another level of strategy as enemies panic, hesitate, or flee based on the player’s previous encounters.
Barrera left Rockstar Games in 2019 after working
