First announced in 2016, Jay And Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch finally has a release date–and it’s very soon. The game starring the legendary stoners will arrive on April 20, or 4/20 as it’s known in stoner circles.
The beat ’em up hails from developers Interbang Entertainment and Digital Eclipse. The game will launch on April 20 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Chronic Blunt Punch is a side-scrolling tag-team beat ’em up in which players control Jay and Silent Bob as they go on an adventure that takes them “to the gates of hell itself.” The game bills itself as a love letter to classic beat ’em ups but with updated features and controls. “This isn’t a typical button masher,” the developer said.
“We set out to create a great game set in Kevin Smith’s Askewniverse, and the result authentically represents what makes his movies so memorable and hilarious,” Interabang co-founder and creative director Justin Woodward said. “We’re excited to see what fans of Kevin Smith and arcade beat-em-ups think of it!”
Smith shared a statement as well, saying, “We said it was coming, and here it is.”
