Developer Sandfall Interactive’s first game, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, was one of 2025’s biggest breakout success stories, and everyone is wondering if and when a sequel is coming. That remains to be seen, and the game’s lead writer, Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, is sworn to secrecy.
She told GamesRadar, “I cannot tell you these things. If I told you, I’d have to kill you. I’m sorry. I would love to tell people, because, as my husband knows, I cannot keep a secret.”
She added: “I love sharing information. I just want to share everything with everybody. But no, I cannot. So sorry.”
In May 2025 after Expedition 33’s release, Sandfall boss François Meurisse said the studio is going to make a new game, “for sure.” He went on to say that he “can’t wait to get to the next project” to help showcase the team’s talent after learning to work together on Expedition 33. As mentioned, it was the team’s first game as a group. After the huge success of Expedition 33, Meurisse said there will be “higher expectations” for whatever comes next.
