Polish developer CD Projekt Red has announced that it’s hired more than 200 people in the past year, and that the majority of the new hires came aboard to work on The Witcher 4.
As part of CD Projekt’s latest earnings report, joint CEO MichaĆ Nowakowski said more than 220 people joined the company’s various teams in the past year. “Most” of the new hires are now working on The Witcher 4 to “help improve the quality and scale up” the project.
Specifically, he said the new staff will be working on “solutions” from the Unreal Fest tech demo for The Witcher 4 and trying to implement these things “across the entire game.”
As of February 28 this year, The Witcher 4 had 499 people working on it, which was up from 447 at the end of October 2025 and 411 on February 28, 2025. As you can see in the graph below, the majority of the developer’s staff are working on The Witcher 4, with Cyberpunk 2 (149 developers) ranking second when it comes to game development. More people (169) are working on the company’s “shared services” teams, though. This comprises the localization, quality assurance, data, insights, and motion-capture.
