Bethesda Game Studios has published patch notes for its Fallout 76 Infestations update, revealing plans to launch its “next-gen update” for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S this summer.
The studio shared full details for its post-apocalyptic online RPG on its website today. Tucked in with the usual breakdown for all of the new content and all of the old content getting fixed is confirmation that PlayStation and Xbox players will soon be able to take advantage of a full-on next-gen update.
Unfortunately, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S versions of Fallout 76 don’t have a firm release date yet, but Bethesda doesn’t leave players with a simple tease. Testing for the (very) long-awaited next-gen updates is confirmed to take place sometime in June, with the full launch set to follow “later this summer.”
“Available to everyone who owns Fallout 76,” Bethesda explained, “you will be able to download the Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5 test versions from the Xbox and PlayStation Stores. Once testing is completed, we plan on releasing the update later this summer!”
Fallout 76 first launched for PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2018, but instead of following that up
