Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is a collection headlined by Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. After languishing in PS3 purgatory for many years, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is finally breaking free onto new platforms thanks to the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. Accompanied by two more games in the series, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel, is the new Master Collection worth your time and money just to relive Solid Snake’s weirdest, non-canon, and final adventures?
That’s the question that GameSpot editor-at-large Tamoor Hussain and content manager Ben Janca aim to answer in the video below. So far, Metal Gear Solid 4 runs well on PC–and even Steam Deck for the most part. The game appears to have transitioned smoothly to that platform, although your mileage may vary when it comes to the structure of this title. It’s still a cutscene-heavy experience with dated control schemes when compared to what came after–Metal Gear Solid 5 and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater–but if you can overlook its quirky gameplay, you’re in for a weird and fun time.
