This Promising New Soulslike Features A Black Metal Vocalist Among Its Impressive Cast

The main voice actor cast for upcoming soulslike Valor Mortis has been revealed, and its star-studded lineup features the surprising addition of a name better known for fronting a black metal band.

Adam “Nergal” Darski will play the role of Captain Raphael. If his impressive growls and screams in Behemoth are anything to go by, players can expect a pretty dramatic rendition of the character.

It’s not his first rodeo, surprisingly. He also voiced The Black Cat in 2022’s Blacktail and was the narrator for Apocalipsis: The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in 2018.

He’s joining an impressive roster of voice actors, including Baldur’s Gate 3 and Expedition 33’s Jennifer English as The Shrike and Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Crimson Desert’s James Alexander as William Dowsett. Napoleon Bonaparte will be played by Vincent Cassel, who has starred in the Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen films as François Toulour.
