A modder who was porting GTA 5 to Nintendo Switch taunted Rockstar Games and was immediately hit with a cease and desist.
The modder, known as Mojso, was planning to bring GTA 5 and GTA Online to Nintendo Switch for modded versions of the console and got a bit cocky. After Rockstar Games recently posted its guidelines for modding (which forbids unofficial ports), the modder posted: “Try me Rockstar, [I don’t give a f**k.]”
Three days later, the modder’s Discord server was taken down for copyright infringement, but it didn’t seem to deter them. After many warned them about how litigous Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two are, the modder suggested they aren’t worried about it: “Copyright infringement is anything but enforced in Serbia.”
Less than a week later, the modder confirmed they had received a cease and desist from Take-Two Interactive and thanked the company for its “mercy.” As a result, the port will never see the light of day, as Mojso has stated that they don’t want to risk any legal issues.
