If Fortnite‘s existing three battle royale modes aren’t enough for you, Epic’s got something new up its sleeve in the June 18 update. Blitz Royale is, according to Epic, a new twist on battle royale “with a rogue-like design specifically crafted for mobile play” with 32 players and five-minute rounds.
Despite the bit about Blitz Royale being “crafted for mobile,” the mode will be available on all platforms, with cross-play as usual. Leaks indicate that Blitz Royale will be a smaller version of its main Battle Royale mode played on the bite-sized Reload maps, and so it may be oriented around mobile primarily in the sense that it’ll have very short rounds. But further details are pretty scarce as the only official confirmation has come from a pair of brief tweets. With the mode going live in less than two days, we won’t be in suspense long.
